Sweater Weather!

IT IS COLD. Now I don't mean Utah cold, but for a Floridan I'm freezing! This week was in the 40's and super rainy. There's also finally snow on the mountains! That's when you know winter is coming. Anyway, this week wasn't too eventful and I'm not sure what happened. I'll just give a quick summary.

We had no investigators show up to church, so that was super disappointing. We had to push back 5 baptisms, so we will only be having one this coming week. As for the rest, hopefully in 2 Saturdays! PJ will be entering the waters of baptism this Friday! We are super excited for him.

We did have a zone conference this week, and it was great. President and the zone leaders spoke a lot about solidifying investigators. It's something the mission needs a lot right now, because we all have large teaching pools, but no one is progressing. This week we will be focusing on teaching the importance of the sacrament. Each Sunday, we can receive a remission of our sins, and renew our covenants. Once we help people understand that, they will crawl to the sacrament if they need to!

We had a lesson with Genesis and she is still progressing. Her baptism was going to be this Saturday, but now it will probably be in 2 weeks, so we will continue to help her.

Not too much else from me this week. We will be working super hard this week so we can bring about miracles in the Mound Fort area. I love this gospel, and I love this work. Thank you all for the love and support. Have a great week!

TRANSFERS!

So this week was transfers, and I got a call from the AP's last Monday night saying I'll be heading to Mound Fort! It's basically central Ogden, with the Ogden Temple in my stake boundaries! My companion is Elder Tabler, and he's great. I knew him already, because all my previous companions have been his companion. Him and I are both district leaders again, over 3 other companionships, and 3 senior couples as well. I hope it will be a good transfer!

So Monday consisted of playing speedball and just hanging out with the zone, since we knew a lot of us would be leaving. It was a good last p-day in the Weber West zone! Monday night is when I got the call.

Tuesday, I packed almost all morning, and went and said bye to all the great families in Clinton before I left the next day.

Wednesday, I arrived in my new area! We live in a little shack, with another set of missionaries in our district, Elder Smith and Galbraith. They are both pretty cool. The rest of the day I just unpacked and got a little tour of the area.

Thursday, we had zone/district meeting. We had introductions at the beginning and then we split off to districts. The zone leaders are in our district, so it's weird how we train them, when they should be training us, lol! But it went good, we gave a training on faith to find investigators, and the importance of the Book of Mormon on the first contact. It went pretty well for not preparing anything! (lack of communication from zone leaders) That night we had a lesson with one of our investigators, PJ who is 11, and it went super well!

Friday, we had service in the early afternoon helping somebody move stuff from a storage unit to their new house. It took a while, but we finished! Later, we had a lesson with Genesis. She's in her mid 20's, and her husband is a return missionary. They want to be sealed in the temple, so she's on date to be baptized at the end of this month! Before we went home, we went to the missionary store, and found some awesome matching floral ties! They were kinda expensive, but we bought them haha.

Saturday, we weekly planned for all of our investigators, which took a while. We have 6 investigators, and 5 of them are on date to be baptized. Later, we went tracting in the trailer park, and didn't have really that much success.

This week has been super good, and I'm excited to see the fruits of this new area I'm in! Thank you all for the continuing love and support! Hope you all have a good week! Love you!

Throw up

Well I'm sorry this is super late, I've been super lazy today. Not much has happened, but we did work with a lot of less actives, and did a lot of service. To start you out, I have no idea what happened Monday through Wednesday, so it must've been very productive!

Thursday we did service on Hill Air Force base, which is always fun. I love that place so much, and there's always something unique there! The rest of the night we made some visits with one of our Ward mission leaders.

Friday we went on exchanges, and I went with Elder Walker, while Elder Black went with Elder Lauer. In the morning we went to the gym at 5, and Elder Walker gave me some pre-workout, so that way I could stay awake and have energy. 20 minutes into my workout, I realize that my whole body is itching, and I'm going crazy. Then, my stomach starts hurting. When I asked Elder Walker how much he gave me he told me he gave 2 scoops (way too much). He didn't realize what it could do, but I ended up throwing up and having stomach pains the whole rest of the day lol, needless to say. At night, we had a lesson with one of their investigators, David, and it was so spiritual. We put him on date to be baptized on the 29th.

Saturday, Elder Black punched a Styrofoam head and sprained his wrist. It was super funny, he thought he could do more damage. It ended with a visit with the mission nurse, and not a very productive day!

Sunday, we got to sing in sacrament meeting with some of the sisters in our district. It went super well!

Sorry this email didn't have much, next email will be better! Love you all, praying for everyone effected by the hurricane! Have a good week.

Stolen Tire + More

So another funny story if you can't tell from the title again... So I hope you guys get a good laugh out of it... Here's how the week went!

Monday we just did the regular thing, went to speedball and went to Ross. Later just hung out and I dominated Elder Black in Catan like always :)

Tuesday, we had a lesson with a less active family, the Elliot's. They say they want to get sealed in the temple, but don't want to keep any commitments. We're working with them slowly, but if they don't show a desire, then we can't do much. Then, we went to the temple with Bill again! Going to the temple is always great, and Bill really enjoyed it again. That night we went and saw "Love, Kennedy" with Kaiden (recent convert) and his sister. They really liked it!

Wednesday was hilarious. So, because we had the car on Tuesday, we locked our bikes up to the church. When we went to get them for today, we noticed that someone had stolen Elder Blacks front tire, and put on another tire. The tire they replaced it with is extremely smaller than the original. I don't know who was dumb enough to steal a tire and replace it, but it was kind of funny (for me anyway). They also stole all the lights from both of our bikes. Then that night, we went on a short exchange with the zone leaders, and Elder Martin and I ran into Walmart for something, and we ran into the Velasquez family! If you've seen "Love, Kennedy", then you know who they are!

Thursday, we went to Layton to pick up the other elders from the family history training in the afternoon, and went to Holy Smokes afterward. It's a really good BBQ place that feeds the missionaries for free. We then had service at the thrift shop on base, and when we were leaving, I noticed a really good pair of Rockport winter boots for 15 dollars, so I had to get them! They are like 200 dollar boots, so I would say that was quite a steal.

Friday was nothing special. Long day of finding, with no luck.

Saturday we did service for an older lady in her house, and helped her move some rugs. After, she fed us Chicken and Dumplings, and it was delicious! She's from the south, so she knew how to cook! We ended the night making copies of the flyers, for music in the park this coming Saturday.

Sunday was just the regular thing. We had dinner at the Lougy's (missionary mom) so that was great!

Love you all, have a good week! Stay safe from that hurricane coming!

P.S. I will probably be getting transferred in 9 days, so I'll give you all my new address then, if you were planning on sending anything!
