CHANGE OF MISSIONS

This Wednesday I will officially be a Utah Layton missionary! To say I'm excited is an understatement. I'm excited to meet the new mission president and his wife, and to meet all the new missionaries joining our mission. This really is one for the books! Elder Emry will be leaving us this week, and it will just be Elder Fuller and I as the ZLs now. It was my first trip, but I loved it and will miss it! This week has been pretty boring honestly, but here's the highlights.

We had some super good lessons with Truman. We gave him the Book of Mormon stories and New Testament stories for children, and he read both of them in 2 days. He's ridiculously smart. He said he wanted the real Book of Mormon, and even though he's only 9, committed to reading it. He's seriously the coolest kid I've ever taught, and he's super good at soccer! 😂

We had a massive water balloon fight with Braxton and Keigan. They're supposed to be baptized this Saturday, but we will see what happens... They're pretty scared still, but they are ready!

We had a ward BBQ with one of our wards, and that was pretty fun. It was only hot dogs though, so that was lame... But still good, and free, so I can't complain. The same time as the BBQ there was an air show on Hill Air Force base, which is right next to our area, so we got to watch a lot of it and it was awesome! I think they were called the Thunderbirds, but I'm not too sure.

That's about all I have. Love you all! Have a great week!

P.S. The Hilton's surprised me while at church, and I got a picture with them!

Baptisms and Baseball!

What a great week here in the Utah Ogden Mission! This next week is the last week I can say that so I had to... But Chelsey got baptized this weekend! Pretty awesome and funny at the same time! She asked me to baptize her, and when we got into the water we noticed it was super... Super... Super... Low. Our ward mission leader didn't start filling it in time so it was below my knees! I attempted to baptize her 3 times until she went all the way under! Her suit was kinda big on her and kept coming out of the water. But hey, we got it down and it was still a very spiritual baptism! Check out the pictures below.

So, we played some baseball for like an hour with one of our investigators, Tom. He loves baseball and he can't find anyone to play with him, so we figured we would! After we played a bit, we taught him the restoration of the gospel. He grasped it pretty well, and had a ton of good questions. We were able to put him on date to baptized for the 14th of July! We will see how he progresses!

Yosena left for California... So who knows when she will be back. But, keep her in your prayers! We also taught Truman again, and he's super excited about baptism. He came to church with us, and we got to go to primary with him! It was seriously so much fun, I miss teaching primary! We have some pictures of that below too.

We also had interviews with president Jaggi this week, and that was my last one with him! 😓😓 Super sad but it was an awesome interview. He gave every missionary a blessing, and he said some powerful things in my blessing for both the rest of my ministry and for after my mission! He truly is an inspired man. I love him and will miss him!

Anyway, happy fathers day to all fathers and father figures out there. You truly do make a difference! I love you all, and have a good week!

Bill Made It!

Most of you probably don't remember that name... Bill McDaniel was the very first baptism I had, my first week in the field. I didn't get to teach Bill before his baptism, but I taught him all the new member discussions with Elder Siedschlag and Elder Dantas. Anyway, Bill got to go to the temple this week to receive his Endowments, and invited Elder Siedschlag and I to come with him! It was such a joyful day. The change in Bill is just so obvious, it's so great to see how the gospel of Jesus Christ means everything to him. We took a picture at the temple, so check it out below!

This week, we got to go down to Kaysville and have a MLC with the Salt Lake City mission. It was considered the Layton mission MLC, since that's what Mission we will be in just over 2 weeks. So, we had every zone from the Ogden Mission that will be in Layton, and same with Salt Lake. It consisted of 2 of their zones, and 4 of ours. It was so awesome to meet all the leadership of whom we will be serving with very soon. I'm excited to learn from them and with them!

We had a few lessons this week with Chelsey. She's progressing for her baptism this Saturday, we are so excited for her. She's already changed so much, we just need to teach her a few more lessons and she will be ready to go!

We also taught Yosena, but she's very nervous for this Saturday. She also said that she will be visiting her sister in California for the next 3 weeks. This was news to us, we told her that we could get her baptized before she leaves, but she was not too sure about it. We told her that she is ready, and she somewhat believed it, but she has a lot of doubt. We told her to keep praying, so we will see what happens.

We found a ton of new potentials this week! This one kid we met, named Truman, is 9 years old and really wants to be baptized. We were talking to him and his brother, and his brother was just baptized a year ago, and so we told him that he could be baptized just like his brother and he was all for it. We talked to his parents and his mom seems super supportive about it, and we set up a return appointment to come back and teach him!

We also had Zone training this week. So us Zone leaders gave a training to the whole Zone. It was my first Zone training, and I think it went pretty well. I have had a lot of experience giving District trainings, so it was just a little bit different because it was to four districts and not just one. I know I got a lot out of it, so hopefully the Zone did too!

That's all I got this week. Love you all, have a good week!

#JuneIsForJesus

I can't believe it's already June! Last month with President Jaggi. We had MLC (Mission Leadership Council) this week, and President Jaggi said that him and sister Jaggi's only wish for this last month, is that every companionship baptize someone this month! It really got me pumped to go do the Lord's work! June is looking super good for us. We had some awesome lessons with Yosena and Chelsey this week! They are both on date to be baptized on the 16th! They both came to church too!

We also are working with these 2 kids named Braxton and Keagan. They are sons of less actives, and they're 10 and 8. We are helping them work towards baptism, and I would say it's going pretty well! We had an awesome lesson at the church, by the baptismal font, and then played Nerf with them. Check out the photos!

We are doing lots of finding this week, so we can baptize more in June. We are also trying to help our zone out as much as we can, so they can baptize too!

This week I got to go out to lunch with my brother Andrew, his wife Kelsey, and my sister Caylee! I asked my mission president, and he said yes! It was really weird, but good to see them haha.

Since I don't have much more about this week, I'd like to share something from the Prophet, President Nelson. In his talk from October 2017, he said:

"When I think of the Book of Mormon, I think of the word power. The truths of the Book of Mormon have the power to heal, comfort, restore, succor, strengthen, console, and cheer our souls.

My dear brothers and sisters, I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions, and direction for your own life. I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions."

I have such a strong testimony of this. As I've studied it every day on my mission, I've seen the power that comes from it. I second the words of the Prophet, and invite all of you to read it and receive that same power! I love you all, have a great week!
