What a week it's been! My favorite kid I've ever taught on my mission, Truman, got baptized! It was such a good baptism. He was so excited and so happy. I also had the privilege of giving a talk on the Holy Ghost at the service! It was awesome!
Check out my Facebook post to see more of my comments on that!
We also went on exchanges with the APs this week. I got to go with Elder Beckdol, and that's always fun! We found a ton of kids for them to teach in their area, so I'm kind of jealous, but good things are coming their way!
We had 2 really good lessons with Dakota. We got him interviewed for his baptism coming up in a couple weeks, and got the program all figured out. We are excited for that!
We moved apartments this morning! Now we live much closer to the area that we serve in, and I live with Elder Tillman, who lives in Gainesville Florida. He was in my EFY company for 2 years! I went up to Gainesville with Brandon Lewis and Tanner Ebanks and we hung out with him. And now we are in the same mission and apartment!
I honestly don't have too much else to report on. Love you all!

Land of Zion (AKA Layton)
As hard as the transition has been from Clearfield to Layton, this place is literally Zion. I love it so far. So we cover a Stake and a half. We cover 3 wards in the Layton West Stake (poor) and the entire Layton Legacy Stake (rich). So it's the best of both worlds, just like when I was in Ogden West! I guess I don't have too much to complain about. It's been good to me, and we are teaching a ton of people. We should have quite a few baptisms coming up π₯π₯. I'm loving Elder Payne as always, he's a stud. It should be a good transfer. Anyway, here's how the week went.
Monday was just the same old thing. Played sports as a zone, and emailed. Then we got word of transfer and the rest of that day was miserable because I was freaking out haha. It's all good now though.
Tuesday morning was spent in meetings for so many hours. We had a leadership training meeting for all the ZLs, DLs, and STL's, followed by MLC at Presidents house. It was my first time going to the new mission home, and it's petty nice!! So after MLC we got to go to the temple with our recent convert Chelsey! It was her first time, and she loved it. It was also my first time going to the Bountiful temple, and WOW is all I can say. Such a beautiful temple, it truly is the House of the Lord. That night was spent packing since Elder Fuller and I both had to be out in the morning!
Wednesday was transfers and it was super sad. I really love Elder Fuller and I'm sad I only got to be with him for 8 weeks, but it was a glorious 8 weeks! So when I got to the area, the first thing Elder Payne and I had to do was plan for zone training, so that took a while. When we finished we did some finding, and found 2 kids that are super down to be taught and get baptized! Their mom said we could come back, so we will go back next week. Their names are Kyle and Hunter.
Thursday we trained the zone, and I think it went okay. We didn't have as much time (like always) as we wanted, but we got our point across. Our zone is super huge and we have a ton of good missionaries, that I'm excited to get to know better. We also got a call from a member saying her non-member roommate wanted a blessing. So of course we drove over there very quickly and gave her a blessing! Turns out she is from Estonia! The only thing I know about Estonia, is that Kyle McCormick served his mission there, so that's pretty cool! She is super down-to-earth and loving, and her name is Sigrid. It's pronounced super weird, but I'm not even going to try and explain it. We gave the blessing and talked a little bit about her religious background. She used to be atheist, but now is kinda in between. She says she feels really good when she gets blessings, and we helped explain to her that that is the the spirit speaking to her, or in other words God's love for her. She accepted to listen to our message and so we got a return appointment for the next morning!
Friday we went back to Sigrid's and taught about the restoration of the gospel. She had lots of questions that we were able to answer. One of her main concerns is really trying to believe that all of the stories in the Bible are true. We helped explain to her that the only way she would know if it's true, is if she asked God herself. We told her that we cannot convince her about our beliefs, and that she needed to receive her own answers. We left her with the Book of Mormon to read and pray about it and said that we would come back in a few days. The rest of the day was spent weekly planning, and then Elder Payne and I did some tracting. Something really funny is that one of the elders in our zone, Elder Lisboa, is training a new missionary, and he is a Visa waiver. Well, his companion had to go to California to sign a piece of paper and come back, so Elder Lisboa got to hang out with us all day. He's a stud tho and helped us talk to a few Spanish people, since he speaks Portuguese and Spanish.
Saturday... Well I wish I could remember what happened then. Oh yeah, we did have a lesson with one of our investigators named Dakota, who is 10 years old. He is a super cool kid, and knows his stuff. He is on date to be baptized on August 11th, and is pretty solid for that date. His family is super fun, and I could honestly hang out with them all day.
Sunday was just full of church and contacting people... Lol.
Anyway, I love you all, have a great week!

Goodbye Clearfield
With a shocking change of events, I'm no longer going to be serving in Clearfield. We got word of transfers today, and turns out they are closing the Weber East zone. Half of the missionaries are joining the Weber West zone, and half joining the Layton zone. I'm heading to be a zone leader in the Layton zone! Change is hard, but it's good. President Call told us he'd be doing a ton of changes his first transfer, and boy he wasn't wrong. I'm excited to still be a zone leader, but I'm so sad to be leaving Clearfield. I've only been here 8 weeks, but they've been some of the best weeks of my mission! I'll never forget those that I was able to teach and baptize here. On to new things!
My new companion will be Elder Payne. He's only been a zone leader 3 weeks, and so we are basically both new to the area! Basically a white wash lol. It'll be fun though, Elder Payne is a stud. Elder Fuller will also still be a zone leader, but he's going to the bountiful zone! He's excited. As for our current area, it's no longer a zone leader area, and now it's getting 2 new missionaries. We will try to show them the ropes and who we are working with, but they'll just have to begin with a fresh start!
Truman is still being baptized on the 28th. Elder Fuller and I will definitely come back, so stay tuned! These new transfers completely change what I was going to email about, but now that this is the only thing on my mind, that's what you all get to hear about. With closing an entire zone, that puts a lot of missionaries in the new zones. President call also combined a ton of districts, so districts and zones will be huge!
Often, when we face many changes in the mission field, and with our areas, companions, mission president, mission name, and everything else, we forget that we are still missionaries for Jesus Christ. Although I'm stressed out of my mind to leave my area already, it's the same work, the work of salvation. I will love and serve the people the same there as I did here, or anywhere else. I'm excited to bring the people of Layton closer to Christ!
Another highlight this week, last night we saw Nik Day at a musical fireside, and brought Kendon. Check out the pic with him! If you don't know who he is, he sings a lot of the EFY music for the church. Anyway, love you all and I'll update you more next week!

Seizures and Miracles!
Hey everyone, and happy late 4th of July! I realized after I sent my email last week that I didn't even mention that. I guess holidays on the mission really just blur into the rest of the days. It was a pretty fun one though! Anyway, this week wasn't as exciting as last week but it was still great and we had lots of miracles happen! Here's my extremely vague rundown:
Monday consisted of running errands for the zone, having to drive all the way to Fruit Heights and get supplies and whatnot. Then we just kinda hung out and emailed/played basketball all day lol. That night we went to another FHE and it was just a ward dinner, so that's always nice.
Tuesday we had our first MLC with President Call, and that was okay I guess. He's super anxious to do the work, but he's all over the place at the moment! Haha I totally feel for him though, he's under a ton of stress, and just had to leave home for 3 years. It should be better next time!
Wednesday, the 4th of July was awesome! In the morning we went to the Clearfield City parade with the Blackburns! For those that doesn't remember who they are, I baptized their son Hayden, and they really took me in as one of their own! It was super fun. The rest of the day we were just outside talking to people, and we went to a giant party at a park in West Point. We played some games and just hung out. While we were there, some guy had a seizure right in front of me, and I had no idea what to do. I started yelling for help, and luckily there was a doctor right there, and they already had a ton of policemen and the ambulance there since it was a city thing. They got him in the stretcher fast, so he should be okay. We also found a ton of new potential investigators that night too! So we will see what comes from it.
Thursday we had zone conference. It was petty short, but it was really good! A lot better than the MLC. We got to know President and Sister Call a little bit better, and they got to know us better. Later that day we went over to teach Truman again, and we found out that he has like 18 giant tortoises just living in his backyard. They're so cool, check out the photo below! π
Friday we weekly planned again, forever. Later that night we went on splits and I got to go with a kid named Cameron, who's about to leave for his mission in Kentucky. He's a stud! We Bible bashed with some dude for an hour (and I totally wrecked him), so I think that prepared Cameron a little bit for his mission down south lol!
Saturday was awesome. We spent most of the day contacting people so they can go to church, and doing a little bit of finding. While we were knocking on some doors, we met a guy named Kendon. He's 25 years old, and just got out of the marines a little bit ago. He served for 4 years. He's an inactive member, and we were able to talk with him for quite a while. Anyway, long story short, he felt the spirit and it taught him what he needs to do to change. He wants to turn his life around and get active again. He even mentioned to us that he wants to serve a mission. Now it's Elder Fullers and I goal to get him on one! He even came to church with us Sunday, and said he would only stay for Sacrament, but stayed for the whole 3 hours!
It's been a blessed week here and I'm loving it more and more each day. I know Jesus Christ lives and loves each one of us! Have a great week yall!

Teach Repentance, Baptize Converts
Such a good week here in the Utah Layton Mission! Seriously so much happened so stay tuned. You're gonna wanna read this one. First off, Keigan got baptized!! Another sneak peak - we went on splits with President Call... Anyway! Here's how the week went:
Last Monday we just did the regular thing and hung out almost all pday. We went to rush fun plex, which honestly is one of the coolest places I've been to. They have bowling, mini golf, foam pit, Lazer tag, and a ton of other things. To say it was fun is an understatement. Unfortunately, I lost to Elder Fuller by 1 stroke in mini golf. I beat Elder Emry though! π It's all good though, cause I won in bowling πMonday night we went to a YSA activity and they had some actors from the movie Ephraims Rescue there. I haven't seen the movie, but they talked about it and it seems great! Check out the photo below.
Tuesday was the least entertaining day. We deep cleaned our apartment and watched Elder Emry pack almost all day. I'll miss that guy a ton! That night we made some part member family visits.
Wednesday we went up to the office to drop off Elder Emry :( Sad day, but he will do great in Clinton West! After that I went to the DMV and got a Utah license. Later that day we helped one of our investigators serenity rake her yard. That night we had a Q&A with the youth of one of the wards we cover, and then played some basketball with them. We were out tracting that night and came across an older lady who wanted a blessing, so I was able to give her a blessing.
Thursday we had district meeting and it was all about Christ-like attributes. We did a self-assessment and I realized how much I suck at being Christ-like. Later that day we did an interview for a little girl that some Elders in our Zone were baptizing the following weekend. We also had a lesson with Truman and we read through some of the Book of Mormon with him. We committed him to pray about it and he said he will. He's so awesome. That night a literal miracle happened. We were out hitting some of the unbaptized list in our YSA Ward and we came across this girl named Chi, who is mung. I have no idea where that is except I know it's somewhere in Asia. We invited her to be baptized and she agreed, and we later found out that there is 18 people in her family living in that house! So please pray that they will all be interested ππ
Friday was basically just weekly planning until dinner. Weekly planning takes so much longer now that I'm a Zone leader because not only do we have to plan for our investigators in our area, but we also have to plan for each individual companionship in our Zone and how to help them about ties each month. So to say it's a long planning session is an understatement! But that evening I got to go out on splits with Cameron (formerly Elder Hutchison my first zone leader and then AP) and it was super fun!
Saturday was the most eventful day by far! First off, Keigan got baptized! Many people were in attendance, and the spirit was very strong. I'm glad to have been able to teach him! Now it's time to work on his brother a little bit more. That night, was just so crazy. Our new Mission president, President Call wanted to come out on splits with us. So we made sure we set up some good appointments that night, that way we weren't just sitting around with him. We went and talked to Truman about the word of wisdom, followed by teaching Chelsea our recent convert about personal revelation. Both lessons went very well and President Call is such a stud! I can't wait to work with him more.
Sunday was not very exciting so I'll skip it ;)
That's all I got this week. Love you all and have a good week!
