Transfers...

Yep, somehow it's that time again. Transfers are this Wednesday and we found out today what's happening. All sorts of crazy. So, Elder Payne and I are staying together, but our area is getting a heck ton smaller... We currently cover the whole legacy stake, and 3 wards in the west stake, as well as a YSA ward. They're splitting our area, and as of Wednesday, we are losing the legacy stake completely to a new companionship. Then, we are also losing the YSA ward to a different companionship. We now only cover 3 wards in the west stake. Elder Payne and I now have the tiniest area in the mission. So yay for us... But, this just means we are going to have to work a lot harder and find a lot more people. Since, as of now, almost all of our work is in the legacy stake. So pray for us please 😭. On a side note, the mission is losing a bunch of cars, so now we are the only companionship in our entire zone that has one lol. So this will be fun. Oh yeah, more bad news. They are kicking us out of our apartment AGAIN. We are now going to live in East Layton with the assistants. I love Elder Beckdol to death, but our miles are about to be skyrocketing. So, that's that....

Ben is getting baptized this Saturday. We got it all figured out with speakers and what not, so now it's just waiting for Saturday! Also, I got the photo of last week's baptism so I'll attach that.

One of our wards had an ice cream social/car show this week and that was really cool! You can look at pictures of a few of them that I'll attach.

The legacy stake just had a brand new building built, and was dedicated yesterday. We got to go to the building dedication and watch as the stake president dedicated it. It was something very unique that I have not seen before, and the spirit was very strong. How grateful I am to have so many places to worship!

So, that's really it for this week. Sorry it seems that my weekly emails just keep getting shorter. I get more and more stressed, and want to type less. That, and I don't remember much. Anyway, love you all and have a great week!

Bob + Baptism = Bobtism

Hey again! This week was fast again, so I don't remember too much like always. Bob got baptized though! It was a super good baptism, and rePsident Call even came! There were sooooo many people there. We had to move to the chapel cause there weren't enough chairs. It was insane.

Only other major thing that happened was that we had stake conference this week. That was so good. President Call spoke, and it was powerful. Idk what is about mission presidents, but they never give bad talks. It was super awesome, and we had like 4 investigators in attendance that got to meet him! Hopefully that will help some people with their conversion.

Sorry this is short but I'm running out of time lol, I hope everyone has a great week, and good luck to anyone going back to school! Love you all! #RIPSummer

P.S I'll attach the photos of the baptism next week since no one has sent them to me yet lol.

Baptism!

Hey! As you can see, this week was super good too. Dacota got baptized this weekend! It's always such a great joy to see those people you work with take their first major step to following the Savior. He's a great kid, and will be an example to many people! That's the highlight of the week, but here's a summary of what else happened:

Monday was pretty fun. We went hiking up Adam's canyon! We went with Elders Beckdol, Laurens, Tillman, and Dean. It's a super neat hike with a waterfall at the top! Check the photos out below.

Tuesday we had zone conference! It was very long, but very good. We had trainings given by the assistants, the sister training leaders, and of course President Call. Elder Payne and I were also fortunate to give a training. I think it went pretty good. After zone conference, we had a few lessons fall through in the evening, so we tried to do some finding.

Wednesday we went on exchanges with another district leader! I got to stay in my area with Elder Bean, and Elder Payne went to South Layton with their companion Elder Bennion. This was my first exchange with a missionary from the Salt Lake Mission, so it was interesting! He's a really good missionary, but you can definitely tell that they did things differently in Salt Lake. It's cool we are able to combine to one Mission and share our talents, and learn from each other! That night we had a lesson with Abbi again, and we just read a chapter out of the Book of Mormon with her, and committed her to reading some on her own.

Thursday... Can't remember much. I know we had a quick lesson with an investigator named Melissa, who the missionaries have been trying to work with for quite some time now. Other than that, the day is a blur!

Friday we had service at the food bank in the morning. That's always fun! Later we did our weekly planning. The evening must've been good, cause I sure don't remember!

Saturday was the best day! Dacota's baptism happened, and right after that we had a lunch in the gym with everyone. We also played some basketball with the family, and that was fun! They have another son named Gage who didn't get baptized, and after watching his brother, he said he wants to work towards getting baptized as well! So we are pumped about that. The Lord is preparing people everywhere, and it's great to be able to be a witness of that first-hand.

Sunday Dacota was confirmed, and the whole family came to church! Even extended! It was so amazing. The Gospel of Jesus Christ brings families closer to each other more than anything else! I have a testimony of that, because I see it in everyone that I teach. I love this gospel, and invite all of you to see how you can apply the gospel more in your families!

That's all I got for this week. Love you all, have a great week!

Lesson IN the Baptismal Font

Hey everyone! This week was actually really great, and flew by so fast. I swear, some weeks feel like eternity, but some feel like 2 days. The majority feel like 2 days... Anyway, here's how the week went!

Monday we moved into our new apartment, then just hung out with the elders we live with now, Elders Tillman and Dean. We went to the aquarium in the mall and got to see tons of different animals and fish, so that was pretty cool!

Tuesday was a complete blur and I honestly couldn't tell you what we did. I know in the evening we knocked some doors but nothing came of it. Oh well!

Wednesday we went on exchanges with one of our district leaders, Elder Wirth. He came to our area with Elder Payne, and I went with his companion Elder Harris! We also had interviews with President Call. That's always amazing! It was a super good day.

Thursday was super interesting. We have an investigator name the Ben, who is 9 years old and super afraid of water. Well, we got permission from our stake president to practice with him going into the baptismal font. So, we had a lesson at the church, then him and his dad got in the water and practiced trying to go all the way under. His dad managed to get Ben all the way under the water! It was super exciting, and then he wasn't even that scared afterward. Just the initial shock, but now he's super excited to get baptized! So he's going to be getting baptized on the 1st of September!

Friday we weekly planned for a long time, and then we had MLC for a very long time as well. By the time we were done with both of those, it was dinner time, and then in the evening we had a lesson with Dakota. We also burned Elder Paynes pants at their house, because he just had his 18-month mark! So that was really fun.

Saturday we had a couple correlation meetings with some of our Ward Mission leaders, talking about the missionary work in their wards. Later that day we had two lessons, one with Marino, a nine-year-old, and one with a kid named Jason, who is 12. Marino is super excited to be baptized, and he's been taught almost everything, but he just will never wake up for church. But, this weekend we were able to wake him up on Sunday and get him to church! And he really loved it. And for Jason, he's a super smart kid who has also been taught everything, but still thinks he needs to learn more. So we read with him in the scriptures the requirements for baptism, and explained how he is ready. So we were able to put him on baptismal date for the 1st of September!

Sunday was a pretty normal day, but in the evening Kendon came out with us on splits! He's such a stud (hopefully you all remember him from Clearfield)

That's about it for this week! I love you all, have a great week!
