What's better than 2? 3!

Hey y'all! So we had some more miracles happen this week! Joelynn and Jackie have been preparing to be baptized this Saturday, and now Asher said he wants to get baptized with his mom and sister! We are so excited for the family!

We do cover 14 Wards, so he have had a lot of Ward parties / fall festivals that we have gone to this week. They were all pretty good, and had some really good food! We have been trying to meet as many people as we can, so that was good to be able to get our faces out more.

We have been making visits to members as much as we can to try and find their friends that we can teach, and we've been visiting so many people. We haven't found a whole lot of success this week in that, but we know that they are out there and we will keep trying!

I'm sorry for being terrible at emails lately! Love you all, have a fantastic week!

What's better than 1? 2!

Hey y'all! It's been a pretty good week here. I don't really have a whole lot to report on but... We have 2 people on date now! So Joelynn, the sister we have been teaching and is on date for the 3rd, her daughter has been sitting in on the lessons and wants to be baptized too! So they're both on date to be baptized together! It's such a miracle to see the family come together. I bet it won't be long until her son, Asher, wants to get baptized too. So that's a miracle!

We did this awesome service for the Lutheran church in our area this week! They recently added on to their church, but apparently during the construction of it, a wind storm ruined some of their walls and such. So we got a bunch of missionaries and we went and helped them out! It was super fun to join together as brothers and sisters of our Heavenly Father, even though different faiths, and support one another. That's what this work is all about!

We found a few potential this week that we hope goes somewhere. If it does I'll inform y'all. That's all I got this week! Till Next time, signing out ✌️

Transfers, again?

Hello everyone! So you may be confused by the subject line. Well, last week I told you all that I was staying in Layton West to train a new missionary. That changed on Tuesday... I got a call from President Call saying I was being reassigned to the Layton Northridge area to train a new missionary. So great! I'm not in Northeast Layton, like right up against the mountain. All the houses here are filthy rich... This will be fun. I've served in poor areas my whole mission, so this will be a first 😂. Anyway! On to the good stuff; my son!

My son's name is Elder Meldrum and he's from Dallas, Texas! He is for sure a stud already. He really wants to work, is already focused on his purpose, and has a strong testimony of the gospel. I'm excited to learn and grow from him, and hopefully help show him the ropes!

First week in our new area, we've been making a ton of visits to our ward and stake auxiliaries. So far we've been trying to contact our 2 stake presidents and all 14 bishops. Depending on the time of day, we throw some finding in there, by contacting former investigators and any referrals we have received from these bishops. On our 1st day in the area, we visited a part member family, the Blundells. The wife is a non-member, and the husband is active. We went over, gave her a copy of the book of Mormon, and left because they were busy. The next day, we asked them if they would feed us and they were super generous and accepting. So we ate dinner with them on Thursday, and had a long conversation. Long story short, after so many years of her being prepared she admitted she wanted to be baptized! So we put her on date for the 3rd of November! She also has 2 unbaptized kids from her first marriage, and they seem interested! I'll update you all if anything happens with them.

Being here 1 week, Elder Meldrum and I have seen so many miracles. The missionaries we replaced left us no work and didn't do a whole lot, but we are working hard regardless. Heavenly Father is multiplying our efforts as we work as hard as we can and we can tell! I love this gospel and wouldn't rather be anywhere else. Love you all, have a great week!

GenCon + Another son!

Hey everyone! What a week it has been. First of all, general conference was amazing! I went to the Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions, and loved them. The investigators we brought loved them too! It's so great to hear from our prophets and apostles, and the direction they have for us to stay on the straight and narrow path. I'll share more insights next week when I have the talks in front of me, but my favorite talk was Elder Holland's in the Saturday morning session. Everyone needs to check it out! On another note, I got a selfie with Elder Uchtdorf and shook his hand. We were 5 rows back from the front, and he walked right up to us. Such a tender experience!

We got word of transfers this week. Well, I'm training again! I'm excited and also sad. I have loved being a zone leader, but I guess some missionary needs me. They turned our area into the assistants area, so I won't be serving exactly where I was... But rather, I'll be on just the other half of the stake. We will see what happens! Pray for me please, lol.

That's all I got this week. Check out the photos though! Love y'all!

(P. S. I ran into Emma Brown, Lily Jones, and Sister Studdert from the MTC)
