2 more months 😭

Hey everyone! Another one of those weeks... Same crap different week. Lots of attempts to contact people, lots of finding, and lots of no answers. The work is slowing down a ton and I'm not sure what I'm doing anymore. Walking up and down these hills is killing me. Walking an hour and a half to my area is killing me. Satan is trying to bring us down and I'm facing more opposition these past few weeks than I ever have in my life. He knows what lies ahead. But so do we! We know there's people out there somewhere, and we will find them. The weather is not helping either. Cold, dry, and snowing. I've had a ton of nosebleeds this week too. All good though. Elder DeRoussel is doing great and continuing to be optimistic.

On the bright side, Chloe is on date for the 9th of February and was interviewed already. That'll be fun! Hoping to put more people on date soon, so stay tuned. We went on exchanges with the zone leaders this week and I got to be with Elder Staley. It was a good day!

Oh and I almost forgot! Marty Johnson from Ogden West, got to go to the temple and recieved his endowment this week! He messaged me and told me he loved it and wished I could have been there. He said he'd love to go to the temple with me when I go home. This is why I still work! Seeing people like him, endure to the end, and make and keep more covenants with Heavenly Father is something I can't describe. I love it!

That's about all I got this week. Love you all!

(Oh yeah, and Elder Laurens came back and took me to lunch! )

Layton Cordinating Council

Hey y'all! So I've finally got more updates this week! It was a pretty good week, and we were able to get a lot more stuff done this week. Having a car only half the time when our area is huge is not fun, but we're making it work. So here's a quick update!

We had zone conference this week, and before it started I realized that it was my 2nd to last zone conference on my mission! So that made me sad, and I decided I would need to take really good notes and get something out of it. President and Sister Call talked a lot of personal study, and how important it is that we are reading the Book of Mormon and Preach My Gospel to get something out of it, not just to go through it. They also talked about how the deeper our studies are, the better that day will go and it will be harder to stop the habit of studying. With only have 2 months left, I learned I really need to take advantage of the time I have to study now, because after my mission, it won't be as easy to study 2 hours a day. Because I won't have all that much time, it needs to be very meaningful. The rest of zone conference was amazing too!

I went on exchanges with Elder Meldrum! It was great to be able to serve with him again, even though it's only been 3 weeks without him. It felt like nothing changed! It was a great day and we had some pretty good lessons. One with Daniel, one with Andrew, and one with Abraham.

Our zone leaders got stuck in some mud/snow and we had to help them get out... And it was really funny, we didn't get home til right at 10:30 ðŸ˜‚. We took a pic right after getting them out, check it out below!

I'm not sure if I've talked about Chloe yet, but there's this girl in our area who has been coming to church with her dad the past few weeks, and she wants to get baptized! She's about 13, and just so excited for it. She's on date to be baptized on the 9th of February!

Now for the best part! This week, Elder Peterson (area seventy) invited us personally, and Joelynn and her family, to come to a Layton coordinating council meeting so Joelynn could share her conversion story with all the stake presidents. This meeting includes every stake president in Layton (about 16) President Call, and the area authority being Elder Peterson. Well it was an amazing meeting that Joelynn got to share her story with everyone, and get the other stake presidents pumped to find families like her in their own stakes. We also got to share some of the story from our point of view, and it was such a spiritual meeting!

That's all I got this week! Love you all, have a good one!

Dunk 'Em

Hey everyone! It's been another great week here with Elder DeRousssel. Ariana got baptized this week! It was so good! Tons of people showed up, so we had to get more chairs from other rooms. More importantly though, she said it was the best day of her life. Elder Meldrum got to baptize her, and I got to confirm her! It was such an honor. Check out the photos below!

That's about it for super big news, but here's a few other things that happened this week:

  • One of our wards had a speaker cancel last second, so the bishop just called us up to speak for about 5 minutes. I spoke on the doctrine of Christ
  • We found more people to teach this week, but everyone is canceling on us constantly
  • We car share now, so we only have it every other day. Which means the days we don't have the car, we walk, and it's so freezing. Utah's weather sucks 😣
  • Did service at Fairfield Village again, got to make crafts with the elderly!
  • Elder Black took me out to lunch! Haven't seen him in forever! (my 3rd companion) photo below

That's all I got this week. Sorry for the boring emails! Love y'all!

It's A Small World!

So with today being only a half p-day and us having a ton to do today, this email will suck. But here's some highlights:

-Caden (Elder Link, my first trainee) stopped by the mission on his way up to BYUI. We took a posterity photo with all my sons, so check out my cover photo on Facebook!
-Ariana is set for her baptism this Saturday!
-My new son, Elder DeRousssel, is a stud! He's from Oklahoma, but grew up in Tyler Texas and was actually best friends with Caden (Elder Link). What a small world and how I would train both of them!
-We are car sharing now, so we have officially started walking in the snow, and it sucks big time.
-Went to the temple on Friday for an endowment. Loved it, check out the photos!

Love you all, have a great week!
